Claudio António Rumal (the Romantic of Rome) as he is known by the radio station, is officially named Claudio António Da Silva Rumal, who was born on the 16th of October 1987 in Bissau.

From an early age, he developed his love of art. It made him want to turn everything that struck him into a real shape with his pencil and drawing toolset. He was an affinity sculptor, the area that made him develop his artistic ability.

In addition to sculpture, Rumal had other dreams:

Be a Cultural Promoter, radio host, and have a college degree in an area that could connect him to the world of technology. Because of this, at the age of 16, he began to follow the best known and most recognized presenters and journalists in the country, in order to fit the path, he was about to follow.

In 2003, he was a collaborator of RDN (Radio National Broadcasting) through the program “Morning’s Owners”, space where every Wednesday during 15mn presented the path of Guinean artists, thus giving the listeners a little bit of the artists and valuing the artists. the national singers and creators.

In 2005, at Samora Moisés Machel High School, as a student of that establishment, he was responsible for information for the United Nations Educational Science and Culture Club (UNESCO), a club created in high schools to help students learn about national and world heritage sites.

The following year (2006), he joined as a trainee at the newly founded Rádio Jovem. With an effective colleague of Radio, they associated ideas and created the program “Cultural Waves”, a program that was successful in the country, relaunching and promoting various artists of the new generation.

He worked on the INFOJOV project, a project created by two young Guineans, who sometime after its founding, make radio broadcasts on the Internet, making it the first radio available online.

In 2008, he participated in a training on conflict resolution in the project created by the United Nations Population Program (UNDP) in a Youth Initiative – Creating a Culture of Peace in Guinea-Bissau, within the framework of Rádio Jovem. From this date on, he established a connection and partnership with the Netos de Bandim Cultural Group, inviting the group to perform radio theaters, a successful idea.

Unable to enter the University, he enrolled in a language course at CCFBG (Franco Bissau Guinean Cultural Center) to learn French, a scholarship obtained through a radio partnership in 2009. In 2010, Antonio hosted the “Bissao en Siène” festival. organized by the CCFBG. In the same year (2010), participated in the festival

Black Arts World, representing Radio Youth for 30 days, attended by over 150 countries in the world.

He represented Rádio Jovem at the “festival of urban cultures” organized by the Senegalese government in Ziguinchor, with the participation of Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania, Gambia, Mali and Ivory Coast.

With the support of an acquaintance, he had the opportunity to study in Morocco in 2011, where he obtained a degree in Computer Network Systems / Network and Server Administration.

In the area of ​​design, won the logo design competition for Guinea-Bissau Music Awards in 2015 held by (Social Forum for Projection of Guinean Culture).

In May 2017, he was honored with the honor of design award at the Lusophone University of Guinea by SINTIDUS magazine.

He is currently Director of the Informatics Department and SiteWeb Manager and broadcasting of Rádio Jovem.

He is also the host of “Listener’s Guide,” “Technology Things,” and host of “Youth Space” on Gumbé online radio.

He is responsible for IT and Design at the Cultural Group Netos de Bandim. Although unpublished, Rumal follows the career of a “novelist” and “poet.”

As a broadcaster, he promoted various figures including creators, musicians, writers, inventors, humorists, fine artists, weavers, etc.
